JA Solar Secures 1.2GW Solar Module Supply Agreement for Major PV Projects in Uzbekistan

 

Beijing, China – JA Solar, a global leader in high-performance photovoltaic (PV) products, has signed a strategic agreement with international EPC contractor Larsen & Toubro (L&T) to supply 1.2GW of solar modules for the Samarkand 1 and Samarkand 2 solar power projects in Uzbekistan.

Once operational, the projects are expected to:

Generate clean electricity for approximately 600,000 households

Reduce CO₂ emissions by around 1.4 million tons per year

Contribute to Uzbekistan's target of achieving 25% renewable energy generation by 2030
