2024 World Energy Storage Conference focuses on high-quality development of energy storage industry

The 2024 World Energy Storage Conference was recently held in Ningde, Fujian Province, China. Well-known experts and scholars from the industry, representatives of international organizations and industry associations, representatives of industrial chain enterprises and application enterprises gathered here to focus on energy storage market applications, cutting-edge technologies, industrial ecology, business models and other fields, and discuss the high-quality development of the energy storage industry.
Participants believe that the energy storage market has broad prospects. At present, the global energy structure is accelerating adjustment, and the rapid development of new energy has also put forward urgent requirements for the accelerated development of the energy storage industry. Driven by policy mechanisms and the market, my country has gradually built a new energy storage industry system with complete categories and complete supporting facilities.
Gao Dongsheng, chief economist and director of the General Office of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, said that energy storage is an important support for accelerating the green transformation of energy. The scale of my country's energy storage industry has grown rapidly, the technical level has been continuously improved, and the industrial ecology has been initially formed. According to data from the National Energy Administration, by the end of September 2024, the country has built and put into operation 58.52 million kilowatts/128 million kilowatt-hours of new energy storage, an increase of about 86% from the end of 2023.
The annual theme of this conference is "Compose a new chapter of global energy storage and build a safe and green highland". During the conference, 45 projects were signed with a total investment of over 100 billion yuan, covering industrial projects such as new energy storage, pumped storage, lithium-ion batteries, new battery materials, downstream industrial application projects such as electric vehicles and electric ships, and supporting modern service industry projects, etc., to accelerate the construction of the ecological system of the entire energy storage industry chain. In addition to the main forum, the conference also held three theme forums on "Energy Storage Market Application", "Energy Storage Frontier Technology", and "Energy Storage Industry Ecology", a roundtable on the international development of energy storage companies, and a series of activities such as "Electric Sailing·Ningde Night Talk".
